Babysense II
£70.00
Safewater alarms has chosen Babysense II as an
extremely good alternative to the Snuza, Hisense has been making respiratory
movement monitors since 1993 and as such are a Tried and Tested company. The
Babysense monitor has been used for over 10 years in Private homes and
hospitals. Babysense II, the only Household Movement Monitor to carry
complete CE registration as a Medical Device and to comply with 93/42/EEC
Medical device Directive.
This product is different to the Snuza but
equally as effective in safeguarding your baby's life, the product works by
placing either 1 or 2 sensor pads beneath the cots mattress. The sensors are
then attached to a control unit that is clipped on to the cot. The unit is
battery operated and as such is completely safe to use around baby's and small
children.
This device like the Snuza monitors the baby's
breathing pattern and the pads constantly relay the information back to the
control panel. If the baby stops breathing for more than 20 seconds or if the
breathing rate becomes shallow and drops below 10 breaths per minute. The pads
alert the control station and a loud alarm is sounded alerting you to the
emergency and allowing you vital time to take control of the situation.
Babysense cannot replace or take the place
over you as a parent to look after and care for your children, Babysense is a
monitoring device and can only alert you to the dangers. It is up to you as a
parent to have the knowledge to respond to those dangers and to also have the
correct information with regard to how to make sure your baby is in a safe and
cared fore environment.

Please find below a demonstration on how Babysense II works..
Important tips:
- Babysense does not replace parent or caretakers. It is an attention-calling
device, a parent’s aid. It cannot solve all problems, it cannot actively take
action. It can only call our attention if it registers a problem.
- No monitor or device cancels or calls you to ignore safety guidelines for your
baby, such as: Sleeping on his back, never over-heating his room, never smoking
around him, firm bedding material (care with blankets and suffocating hazards)
- Always conduct self-test of Babysense regularly, even before every use,
certainly whenever you change location or setup.
TESTING:
Check that when baby is in bed, the green light flashes.
Remove baby from the bed and turn off Babysense™. After turning off, wait a few
moments (while the mattress shifts from change in weight).
Turn Babysense™ ON without moving the bed (WITHOUT BABY IN BED)
Watch for green light - blinking more than once is NOT correct in this
situation, and will show that exterior disturbance is being read as false
movement.
Make sure the alarm goes off within 20 seconds (check it with a watch!) due to
absence of movement. Alarm may sound in less than 20 seconds, with or without
preliminary ticking sound.
Check that the alarm can be heard in all likely locations for listener.
If the alarm does not sound after 20 seconds, locate and eliminate all
surrounding disturbances by actions such as changing ventilation, removing
mobiles, closing windows, repositioning bed, etc.
Always keep Parents' Guide for future reference. And keep packing box for future
storage.
