What is the Lostme Foundme ?
The
lostme-foundme locator is a very simple but effective product to safeguard your
children in busy situations. The thing with young children is that they have a
very good skill at evading your attention, it only takes a split second but that
seems all it takes for your child to move out side of your vision circle. The
Lostme-Foundme is a fun to wear product for the child which will alert you the
moment your child attempts to move outside your vision circle. This circle could
be 1 metre or 20 metres, this is set by you and is fully adjustable.
This allows your child to move out to play and stay close when shopping or in
crowded situations. On moving outside the set circle a small fob receiver will
start to bleep to alert you that your child is out side your preset distance. If
your child is out of your sight you can switch the receiver to the locate
function and set the distance to maximum, the alarm will stop but when you start
getting closer to your child the fob will start bleeping again.

Shopping Trolley Covers
What is a Shopping Trolley cover ?
So
what is a shopping trolley cover and why should you need one. A shopping trolley
cover is a piece of cotton quilted fabric that fits in the space that you put
your child in whilst you push him or her around the supermarket. It is designed
that if it is fitted correctly your child should not be able to touch any part
of the trolley from where they are sitting.
Now
you may be asking why should I need one. Well the problem with shopping trolleys
is that firstly they are left outside and are very rarely cleaned. They are open
to abuse by birds and small animals using them as toilets and it is never nice
to have your child sit in some thing the bird ate the night before.
The
other reason is that when children are in supermarkets they cry and moan and one
way to stop this is to offer them an incentive in the form of food or drink.
However whilst you are shopping, you are picking up raw meat and other forms of
food and are passing this onto the handles of your trolley. Your child is now
eating food or drinking and in-turn is holding onto the handles that you have
covered in blood and germs and passing those germs into there mouths. You also
must remember that you are not the only one that has used that trolley that day.
The
trolley cover eliminates the problem by not letting your child touch the handle
or even the sides of the trolley, it means that your child can eat or drink
safely with out the risk of germs. When you have finished shopping take it home
store it ready for the next time and when it looks dirty chuck it in the washing
machine.

Snuza Halo and Snuza Go
What is a Snuza
The
Snuza is there to assist you in monitoring your baby's breathing, this tiny
device (about the size of a pocket pager) clips onto your baby's nappy and with
the aid of up to date technology monitors you baby's breathing pattern. If your
Baby's breathing becomes too shallow or slows down below a certain level, the
Snuza uses its own built in stimulator to gently vibrate and stir the baby into
taking a more regular breathing pattern. The vibration is like being taped on
the belly about 5 times but this is designed to be enough to stir the baby into
normal breathing, in most circumstances that is all that is required to ensure
that your baby starts breathing naturally again by themselves.
The Snuza senses this and after 5 seconds from the end of the vibration activates its own internal alarm to alert you that your baby has stopped breathing. The volume of the alarm is not to loud to shock your baby but increases to a level that alerts you of the emergency.
The advantage that the Snuza has over other monitoring devices is that because your baby wears the Snuza it goes where your baby goes. Breathing problems don't just occur at home in the cot or at night, in the first few months of your new baby's life sleep is some thing that your baby does at all hours and in all situations. Out in the pram, in the cot, on holiday or in your arms your baby sleeps and in the first few months at the same time most often so do you, having the knowledge that you have a trusted product watching over your new baby gives you peace of mind and aids for a rest full sleep.

Why use a Snuza Halo?
Apnoea is considered to be one of the leading causes of SIDS (Sudden Infant
Death Syndrome), or more commonly known as Cot Death, which is a real concern to
every parent as an incident of this little understood threat can strike without
warning with fatal results. Although there are already baby breathing monitors
on the market which alert parents or caregivers to any cessation in breathing
they do not offer mobility as they rely either on the availability of
electricity, or on the baby being at home in its cot where the under mattress
monitors need to be placed. In our modern lifestyle mobility has assumed a much
greater requirement, and therefore the need for a mobile baby breathing monitor.
How is "Snuza Halo" different to other 'under the mattress' monitors?
Although 'under the mattress' monitors also monitor breathing in a similar
manner to Snuza Halo, these monitors are generally not mobile. Snuza Halo can be
left attached to the baby for constant monitoring or kept in the Snuza Case,
attached and activated whenever required, no matter where the baby is.
How does Snuza Halo work?
Once Snuza Halo is clipped onto the nappy and activated, it will immediately
start monitoring breathing. If your baby stops breathing for 15 seconds, Snuza
Halo will emit a safe, pain-free stimulus to gently reassert the natural
breathing rhythm. If after 5 more seconds, breathing has not resumed, Snuza Halo
will sound an alarm to alert you to act.
How easy is it to use the monitor?
Very easy. Just clip it onto your baby's nappy and turn it on. This shouldn't
take more than a few seconds.
Is Snuza Halo safe?
Absolutely! Baby's safety is paramount. Snuza Halo utilises an ultra-low voltage
battery, emits no radiation and has no side effects. Does the monitor come in
contact with the baby? Snuza Halo clips onto the nappy and the sensor located at
the tip of Snuza Halo needs to touch the skin of the baby in the area of the
naval.
Can Snuza Halo travel?
Yes, this is wonderful news for parents. As Snuza Halo requires no electrical
output (it is battery operated) it can go anywhere you and your baby go. Simply
clip Snuza Halo onto your baby's nappy and turn the monitor on. Snuza Halo will
immediately start monitoring your baby's breathing.
Until what age is Snuza Halo recommended?
Biosentronics recommends that Snuza Halo be used until the age of 1 year. The
incidence of breathing problems, including SIDS, is considered negligible after
the age of one year.
Can Snuza Halo be used again?
Yes, absolutely. However, for safety reasons, we have sealed the Snuza Halo
monitor. This prevents the monitor from being opened and tampered with, thereby
making it unsafe. Since the batteries used will allow for approximately one
year's use, we, at Biosentronics will therefore, replace the battery and
incorporate the latest software ensuring precise monitoring of your baby, at a
minimal charge. This will then enable you to use Snuza Halo for subsequent
babies.
How do I change the batteries?
The battery cannot be changed. The battery is internal to the monitor and is
designed never to be replaced other than by Biosentronics. We offer a
refurbishment facility should you wish to use the monitor for additional babies.
When you return the monitor to us, we replace the battery, incorporate the
latest software and test the monitor before shipping it back to you. This will
be done at a nominal fee.
Why did my battery show it was flat after I turned in on for the first time?
This is due to a well known phenomenon with the type of battery in Snuza. When
left unused for an extended period of time, the ability to produce power is
temporarily reduced. This may happen when it sits on the store shelf for a
period of time. As soon as there is a demand on the battery after this period,
it takes a 2 or 3 on/off cycles for the battery to restore its ability to
produce power. After this, the battery indicator should show green. If Snuza
Halo is used as frequently as intended, this will never happen.
Is Snuza Halo rechargeable?
The battery is non-rechargeable and non-replaceable. The internal battery is
designed to provide power to the Snuza Halo for a period of approximately 1 year
from first use. This is a safety feature of Snuza Halo, AND safety is our main

FALSE ALARMS?
The alarm may sound even if your baby is breathing normally. The only reason for
this to occur would be the following:
1.The nappy is not fitted correctly, i.e. too loose. A) The result is that the sensor is not touching the skin and can therefore, not detect breathing movement. B) Ensure that the nappy is fitted snugly so that the sensor is touching the baby in the region of the naval. 2.The nappy was soiled and removed (from the baby). A) The result is that the monitor cannot detect breathing movement and the alarm will then be activated. B) Ensure that you switch off the monitor once it has been removed from the baby.
3.The monitor is placed over clothing thereby rendering the sensor inactive, breathing movement cannot be detected. A) Ensure that the sensor of the monitor is placed against the skin at all times. Clothing can be placed over the monitor.
